Zinc Stearate

Zinc Stearate

(Item NO: Pzs 202)

Zinc stearate, insoluble in polar solvents but soluble in aromatic compounds and chlorinated hydrocarbons when heated, finds primary applications in the plastics and rubber industries as a release agent and composite lubricant. It is also utilized as an acid breaker and process aid in the production of certain polyolefins. In the paint and coating industries, zinc stearate is used to suspend pigments, enhancing grinding and opacity. Moreover, in construction, it serves as a water repellent agent for gypsum, providing smooth surfaces, low friction, and thermal stability. Additionally, zinc stearate acts as a lubricant for covering paper and sandpaper, and it is employed as an additive in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and health industries. This versatile compound is commonly used in conjunction with other stearate salts like calcium stearate and barium stearate to improve the thermal stability of PVC.
